AL COHN MEMORIAL JAZZ COLLECTION COORDINATOR

Kemp Library at East Stroudsburg University is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as the Al Cohn Memorial Jazz Collection (ACMJC) Coordinator. Reporting to the Dean of the Library and University Collections, the Al Cohn Memorial Jazz Collection (ACMJC) Coordinator builds, organizes, manages, and provides access to the contents of the Al Cohn Memorial Jazz Collection. As part of Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education, ESU offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits.

Responsibilities: Include building and maintaining the collection, providing access to its content, and serving as its gatekeeper responsible for handling ACMJC related information requests and ensuring compliance with copyright and intellectual property as they relate to ACMJC holdings. The collection coordinator acts as primary fundraiser, fundraising contact, grant seeker, and marketer of the ACMJC; Collaborates with ESU’s Office of University Advancement and the ESU Foundation in fundraising activities by the ACMJC, and ensure compliance with ESU regulations as those relate to the proper handling of ACMJC donations and all advancement activities that support or involve the Al Cohn Memorial Jazz Collection; Oversees, maintains, edits, publishes, and distributes the ACMJC newsletter, The Note, and prepares news releases and other public relations literature with the goal of creating a vibrant nationally as well as internationally acknowledged and respected jazz collection at ESU; Makes presentations, gives tours of the collection, and engages in other activities that promote the ACMJC, including but not limited to the hosting of an ACMJC information booth at the annual Delaware Water Gap COTA jazz festival and other appropriate venues; Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean of the Library and University Collections, including responsibilities for other collections as needed.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Music, liberal arts, or related field or significant knowledge and experience appropriate to the organization and management of special collections. Salary: Minimum salary $41,837.00 annually, actual salary based on experience. Excellent benefits. Final selection will be based upon a successful interview and background check. All candidates must furnish proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. at time of employment.
