ASSISTANT COACH - WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Intercollegiate Athletics
$3,041 - $5,110 (Asst 1), $2,503 - $4,219 (Asst 2)
Notes: Two full-time, annual renewable contract positions available. Schedule of hours is Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with extended hours. Possibility of overtime and travel outside of normal business hours. The budgeted monthly starting salary range for the Asst 1 is $3,041 - $4,420. The budgeted monthly starting salary range for the Asst 2 is $2,503 - $3,647.
Essential Functions: The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting with all aspects of an NCAA Division I Volleyball program including, but not limited to, the identification and recruitment of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
This position supports the academic progress of student-athletes; prepares and conducts individual and team practices, training, and competition; fosters the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes. Organizes team and staff travel arrangements; facilitates administrative duties and paperwork; manages the distribution and ordering of team equipment and supplies; coordinates and administers special volleyball events and represents the sports program as needed in association with promoting and fundraising for the program.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree; and coaching and recruiting experience at the collegiate level.
• Experience working effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• General computer skills on software such as Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge and understanding of NCAA regulations.
• Exceptional administrative and organizational abilities.
• Ability to act as a mentor.
• Strong commitment to the academic achievement of student-athletes.
• Hired applicant must possess a valid California Driver's License; must successfully pass a background check through the Department of Justice.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree.
• Volleyball coaching experience at the Division I level.
• Experience with recruiting software particularly Scoutware.
