Responsibilities
The Assistant Coach, Track & Field/Cross Country will work successfully with a team of coaches to foster a positive, competitive environment for student-athletes; assist the head coach in implementing a comprehensive training program on and off the field of competition and understand and support a consistent program-wide philosophy; contribute to the overall administration of the men's & women's cross-country, track and field program including assisting with on and off campus recruiting, team travel, equipment maintenance, fundraising and daily operations; work closely with athletic trainers and strength coaches to ensure the overall health and well being of student-athletes; communicate with Student-Athlete Support Services to support and monitor successful academic progress and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. The Assistant Coach will conduct all applicable operations in a manner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of the Northeastern Athletics Department in accordance with the NCAA, CAA, ECAC and IC4A rules.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree required, three years of related coaching experience, knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations or a combination of education and experience. Must be able to travel and work evenings and weekends as required.
