East Stroudsburg University is accepting applications for a tenure track position beginning Fall 2010. The full-time instructor in the Art Department will be able to teach a diverse range of graphic design courses, engage in scholarly activity and provide service to the department, university and community. The Studio courses in graphic design combine practice, theory, and technology. They also focus on design as an art form, a creative process, and a profession. Our standard teaching load is 3 undergraduate courses per semester. In addition, the individual will be expected to contribute to curriculum development and process improvement.

Required Qualifications: A terminal degree (MFA) in Graphic Design is required. We are seeking candidates that have a strong commitment to artistic and professional practice, teaching and service. Applicants must have considerable knowledge and teaching evidence of the history of and contemporary practice in graphic design. Candidates should be proficient with design applications including Photoshop, Illustrator,InDesign and Macro Media. Final selection will be based on excellence in scholastic achievement, professional activity, a review of the candidate's vitae and a successful interview, which will include a teaching demonstration and portfolio review. Undergraduate teaching experience required.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience incorporating the use of technology in teaching and experience working with diverse student populations is also preferred.
