The University of Missouri (MU) invites applications for 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor - Food Science. Split appointment between teaching & research, position is designed to provide leadership for Marshall-Arbuckle Dairy Food Innovations Program & capitalizes on many existing strengths at MU including food & hospitality systems, nutrition & exercise physiology, medicine & animal science. Healthy food & life styles are major initiatives at MU.
Candidate will teach both undergraduate & graduate levels, establish strong external funded research program & provide professional services; oversee our dairy pilot plant & foster relationships with dairy industry. Using interdisciplinary approach, develop innovative food products for intervention of health issues (ex. obesity); particular interests in these areas: food-based obesity interventions (particularly dairy foods); functional dairy foods/nutritional interventions; dairy-based probiotics.
