Job Description
 
Corvallis headquarters office of national trade/professional association seeking Assistant to the Executive Director. Job requires a self-directed, mature individual who is a skilled multi-tasker and a quick learner. Knowledge of or interest in association work preferred.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Executive Director.
  • Prepare agendas and exhibits and record and archive minutes for Board of Directors meetings.
  • Coordinate detailed travel arrangements for Board members and staff.
  • Coordinate or assist with organizing various Association events, retreats, projects, and meetings.
  • Supervise Foundation Coordinator/Executive Office Assistant.
  • Provide information and articles for member news communications
  • Compile Executive Director’s monthly Highlights and Annual Report to Board.
  • Provide content updates for various sections of the NIRSA website.
  • Serve as staff liaison to various volunteer committees; coordinate each committee's assigned processes and activities.
  • Periodic travel is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum experience and qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited institution
  • Related executive-level administrative experience
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of personnel, management, Board members, volunteers and visitors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm, professional demeanor in stressful situations
