CEI Inspector II
Responsible for the following inspections: asphalt and concrete for acceptable materials, mix (composition), and temperature; pavement for proper spreading, rolling, depth, alignment and compaction; roadways and structures for conformance to plans, specifications and special provisions; structural materials and members; placement of culverts; structural operations such as foundation excavation, placement of piles, reinforcing steel, and drill shafts; backfill and embankment operations; and traffic control and erosion control devices. May perform contract documentation including field measurements of pay items as well as complex calculations and computations.
Technical Responsibilities: Reads, interprets and explains construction plans, contract provisions and specifications. Instructs others in proper work methods. Documentation Responsibilities: Documents pertinent field and office related activities.
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant construction experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. Must be able to walk, stand, and climb outdoors at least 8 hours per day in construction environment and in all climate conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have and maintain valid driver's license. Required to convey information clearly and effectively through formal and informal documents. Concrete Level 1 & 2, Asphalt Roadway Level 1 & 2, Earthwork Level 1 & 2, MOT, Nuclear Radiation Safety, Final Estimates Level 1 and Pile Driving certifications from a State Highway Agency or National Entity such as ACI or NICET required. H1B sponsorship not available at this time.
