The Community Outreach Representative is dedicated to building community presence through participation in BMCHP outreach activities. The role provides educational and support information regarding Commonwealth Care and MassHealth programs.
Key Functions & Responsibilities:
Participates in BMCHP outreach activities, including:
-Provider meetings and events
Community meetings and events
-BMCHP general outreach activities
-BMCHP member outreach activities
-Active membership/participation in targeted coalition efforts.
-Regularly meets community outreach standards
-Networks for the purpose of generating leads and building relationships
-Represents BMCHP to the community through active membership/participation in targeted coalition efforts (ie., CHNAs, community health initiatives, etc.)
-Communicates with potential BMCHP members regarding eligibility requirements and steps required to enroll, including through the delivery of presentations.
-Utilizes virtual gateway electronic application tool and manual enrollment applications.
-Participates in identifying strategies and approaches for speaking with and facilitating the enrollment of potential eligibles.
-Processes event details and contact management information in an effective and timely manner using technology tools such as Quickbase and Exel as instructed.
Education & Experience:
Required:
-High school diploma.
-A minimum of one (1) year experience in community relations, outreach and/or organizing, or related experience such as marketing and communications.
-A Valid Drivers License.
Preferred:
-Some college education.
-Some health care or managed care experience preferred.
-Bi-lingual capability.
Competencies, Skills, & Attributes:
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to speak successfully with individuals as well as groups.
-Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced business environment.
-Proven relationship-building skills, ability to participate in work teams.
-Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, primarily Word & Excel.
-Ability and willingness to work, as necessary, after hours and weekends on special events such as health fairs and community festivals.

-Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
-Must have reliable transportation (car required outside of Boston).
