OVERVIEW/GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Director of the Hazard Outsourcing/Claims Loss Draft area will oversee the administration of hazard outsourcing (fire, wind, flood) damage claims management, loss draft plans, organizes, leads, controls, and coordinates the provision of services of the hazard outsourcing claims processing area (disaster recovery; wind, flood, fire damage) for 1st party residential property insurance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops and secures approval of a coordinated budget for areas of responsibility and guides subordinate managerial personnel in the development of their budgets as necessary.
Hires, develops, evaluates, and (when necessary) disciplines and discharges subordinate personnel or makes authoritative recommendations in such matter.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective organization for area(s) of responsibility, including: a) efficient work flow patterns; b) established performance standards; c) effective delineation of duties and responsibilities; d) suitable staffing levels; e) appropriate supervision; and f) systems for timely communication of pertinent information.
Responsible for the provision of services in residential mortgage claims management and hazard outsourcing providing residential mortgage hazard and flood tracking, and escrow disbursement services. Including maintaining quality, service and meeting service level agreements.
Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate responses to clients and regulatory agencies..
Maintain and cultivate staff morale and workflow efficiency of the staff. This may include the development and implementation of incentive programs, employee training, newsletters, meetings and coaching.
Remains abreast of developments in the field(s) by pursuing a program of self development, participating in professional organizations, interacting with peers, reviewing pertinent literature, and so forth.
Education: Level of knowledge ordinarily acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
Rich knowledge of the hazard and casualty residential insurance field; claims processing management experience, coverage analysis, state regulatory analysis.
Extensive Management Experience: Five to seven years of progressively more responsible experience in the areas managed. Residential mortgage loan servicing, hazard insurance (flood, wind and fire) damage, and residential mortgage claims experience required.
Knowledge: Human Resource policies and procedures, area-specific policies and procedures, insurance regulations, insurance policy contract language, specific product knowledge; including processing homeowners insurance claims.
Banking knowledge including balancing and reconciliation.
Solid Workflow Management Experience and project management required
