Established in 1964, the Metropolitan Development Council (MDC) is a Community Action Partnership focused on removing individuals and families from poverty while teaching them to be self-sufficient to ensure future independent success. MDC serves over 20,000 individuals per year throughout Tacoma and Pierce County through over 40 programs, with a focus on Family Services, Education, Housing, Homeless Services, Drug and Alcohol Treatment, Prevention, and Economic and Career Development.
The CEO of MDC plays a key leadership role in the community and will represent a passionate, dedicated, hard working group of staff and Board members. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree coupled with a track record of continuing education. An advanced degree is preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of significant leadership experience including broad-based personnel and business management responsibility. In addition, a history of community involvement at the Board, committee or task force level is also appealing.
