NURSE PRACTITIONER

$6,130-$8,583/Month
Notes: This is a full-time, career position. Schedule of hours is Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime, shift work, travel and travel outside of normal business hours may be required.
Essential Functions: Under general direction and in collaboration with the CHC Chief Physician, or his/her designee, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive primary health care to student patients seen at Campus Health Center (CHC).
This position coordinates the care of each of his/her patients; performs physical examinations to diagnose disease or illness, providing the appropriate medical care, treatment and advice. The NP consults with physicians as necessary for clarification of and guidance on patient care issues or treatment plans.
The NP practices within the parameters of written and approved protocols and works in accordance with the approved guidelines/ protocols of the CHC, and the Board of Registered Nursing for the State of California as well as other applicable governing bodies.
Minimum Requirements:
• MS degree in nursing.
• Board Certification Nurse Practitioner.
• Current furnishing number, and DEA License.
• Current on BCLS.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a high volume workload and function independently under time constrains with frequent interruptions.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong skills and interest in providing women's healthcare.
• Fluency in English (written and oral).
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to stoop, bend, and squat several times each hour.
• Ability to lift, and safely move, 40 pounds.
• Ability to safely perform repetitive tasks with fingers, hands and arms.
• Ability to work in varied climates/temperatures.
• Tolerance of diverse belief systems, cultural backgrounds and points of view.
• Hired applicant must successfully pass a background check through the Department of Justice; and possess a valid California Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with a young adult population.
• Experience working with a diverse population.
• Strong background in women's health.
• Able to perform colposcopic examinations.
• Able to perform endometrial biopsies.
• Able to place IUDs.
