Notes: This is a part-time (25%), limited (without possibility of becoming career) position. Schedule of hours have not been determined; not to exceed 10 hours per week. The budgeted monthly starting salary range for this position is $3,679 - $4,513., which will be pro-rated at 25% time.
Effective September 1, 2009, the University of California, Riverside has implemented a one-year Furlough/Salary Reduction Plan due to the state budget crisis. Under the plan, this position’s work time will be reduced by a specified number of days according to the salary for this position, with a commensurate reduction in pay evenly distributed over a 12-month period. http://budget.ucr.edu). Essential Functions: Provide statistical analysis for the Water Reuse and Remediation Project: Reuse of saline water for crop production.
Minimum Requirements:
• Graduation from college with a major in statistics or a related field, and ten years of professional statistical experience; or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience in using SAS Statistical Program from SAS Institute Inc.
• Experience using PSI Plot Program, which may include dual axis graphs.
• Experience using Excel and Quattro Pro programs and their built-in functions to transform the data when needed, or utilize other resources to transform the data.
• Experience creating tables for reports and publications.
• Ability to suggest various statistical procedures that can be applied to the experiment.
• Ability to offer statistical advice about the experimental design.
• Ability to participate in planning meetings with representatives of cooperating institutions to resolve statistical related problems.
• Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Corel WordPerfect.
• Hired applicant must successfully pass a background check through the Department of Justice.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Competency using Van Genuchten and Gupta (1993) Threshold model using either the Piecewise Linear model, the C50 model and the exponential model.
• Some knowledge and abilities to use Mathematica Software.
• Ability to help resolve computer related problems.
