Service Leader - Economist
WSA seeks a Service Leader to manage and grow our national Transportation Economics practice, as well as coordinate growth internationally. The individual will serve as the manager and expert advisor on major transportation infrastructure investment studies, fiscal analyses, and economic impact and development analyses related to all the modes of passenger and freight movement. In doing so, the individual will coordinate with our established freight, transportation modeling, and toll practices. The successful candidate will also identify and pursue new business opportunities in existing and potential markets, both domestic and international.
Minimum requirements: Masters degree in Economics and at least 15 years of relevant experience. PHD in Economics preferred. The individual must have superior knowledge in economic modeling, financial analysis, forecasting and transportation consulting. Must have excellent communication skills both one-on-one and in group settings (i.e., clients and other professionals). In doing so the person must have excellent technical writing skills, as well as the ability to convey economic theory in a manner understandable to lay audiences. Further, the nominated Leader must have demonstrated experience in effectively managing people and projects mostly in a consulting environment. A proven record of relevant publications, conference presentations, and name recognition within the industry are highly desirable. Frequent travel required.
