This role designs applications required to automate business processes and meet business needs. The resulting design may run on multiple platforms and may be composed of multiple software packages and custom components. This role defines best practices in the critical evaluation and selection and / or development of the software components and hardware requirements of the applications and data, and the development of the application, including evaluation and selection of development methods, development processes, best practices and tools. Applications Architects are responsible for applications-related quality, performance, availability, scalability, and integrity. They are also responsible for the functional interface to applications and for ensuring application usability.

The Teradata Solution Architect leads all aspects of the delivery of CRM Business Intelligence solutions & related components in a Teradata MPP environment. The Teradata Architect is responsible for
- end-to-end solution architecture for DW / BI solutions in a Teradata MPP environment.
- lead creation and implementation of data warehouse architecture and systems architecture
- Teradata data architecture / Teradata data model
- providing guidance and leadership to ETL and Reporting teams for Teradata architecture and performance
- provideing HW/SW oversight (selection, sizing, configuration recommendation & execution)
- understanding business challenges and will translate them into requirements/solutions.
- leading performance tuning / optimization
- advising on advanced teradata concepts including Teradata AJI's (aggregate join indices)

Required

* High School Diploma/GED
* At least 1 year experience in technical architecture and hands on ETL tools, data staging techniques, metadata tools, and data base designs
* At least 2 years experience in DW / BI system and application architecture with experience in the development and delivery of enterprise scale client/server and application architecture solutions for govt and/or healthcare orgs
* Basic knowledge in DBA
* At least 2 years experience in with migration / conversion from other environments (Oracle, DB2)
* Readiness to travel up to 75%; travelling 5 days a week, home on weekends
* English: Intermediate

Preferred

* Information Technology
* At least 3 years experience in technical architecture and hands on ETL tools, data staging techniques, metadata tools, and data base designs
* At least 5 years experience in DW / BI system and application architecture with experience in the development and delivery of enterprise scale client/server and application architecture solutions for govt and/or healthcare orgs
