The site VP of Finance will report to the President of Beth Israel and to the Senior Vice President of Financial Planning at Continuum as a team member assisting the President in managing all financial issues at BIMC. In addition to the President, the VP will also assist the site administrative staff with the preparation of any reports, special projects or analyses required to resolve operational issues or programmatic development. The incumbent will be responsible for helping operations staff to develop, implement and monitor the annual operating and capital budgets and providing insight and analysis of monthly budget variances. The VP will provide explanation and guidance to site leadership on monthly financial reporting results and issues and assist Corporate Finance leadership with the preparation of any reports for presentation to Administration, Finance Committee and the Board of Trustees. Additional responsibilities include assisting site staff in developing revenue enhancement and cost containment initiatives; coordinating the preparation of financial statements and representing Corporate Finance at certain site operational committees. The VP will act independently to address and resolve problems and issues that arise in areas under his/her responsibility. The successful candidate is also expected to be proactive in resolving problems and issues not under his/her responsibility by directing them appropriately. This senior-level position requires a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s in Business or Finance; a CPA is preferred. Five to seven years of relevant financial/budgeting experience in a health care setting and specific knowledge of hospital revenue and reimbursement are needed. The ideal applicant will be familiar with GME reimbursement and have the ability to integrate finance and operations soundly. Excellent interpersonal/communication skills are required in order to interact with clinical chairs and department heads.
