East Stroudsburg University (ESU) seeks a highly skilled, dynamic, and talented advancement leader to enhance ESU’s comprehensive advancement effort. The Vice President for University Advancement (VP) will provide leadership to and management of the Office of Advancement, the Office of Alumni Engagement, the Office of University Relations, and the University Foundation.
A member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, ESU offers a unique combination of big and small—big university facilities, with professors with small school attention and friendly atmosphere.
Reporting to President Robert J. Dillman, and serving as a collaborative member of President’s Council, the VP will be a key leader on campus and will be highly visible with foundation board members, alumni leaders, administrators, faculty, staff and students to increase the engagement of the internal and external communities behind one unified mission to increase the culture of philanthropy and service within ESU.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in fundraising and a strong sense of integrity to the position. He or she will be an experienced advancement leader, having experience building successful teams and operations in one or more of the following areas: alumni relations, external affairs, and development. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and significant leadership experience relevant to the work of the Advancement division. An advanced degree is preferred. The VP should possess a deep commitment to the values of ESU and the ability to successfully articulate its mission and goals.
